Project overview

Location: 159 High St, Harrow HA3 5DX
Objective: To perform a comprehensive measured survey and guide the redevelopment of an existing four-storey building into 36 residential flats.
End Use: Residential flats.

Context and background

Located in Harrow town centre the structure’s previous use no longer served the needs of the local community. This redevelopment project aimed to address the growing demand for residential housing while preserving the building’s external facade, which complements the local town’s architectural style.

Measured survey

Methodology

A combination of 3D laser scanning and traditional surveying methods were used to ensure precision in documenting the building’s dimensions and structural integrity.

Findings

The survey showed the building’s existing framework could support the proposed conversion with some modifications. Key structural adjustments were identified to maximise the size of the living spaces and to ensure building safety while complying with residential building codes.
